We celebrate our friends’ birthdays and events in their lives, but when was the last time you celebrated man’s best friend- your dog?

Well, the Million Paws Walk on Sunday 16 May is a chance to do just that.

Last year over 80,000 and 45,000 dogs hit pavements around the country to be part of Australia’s premier pet event.

As the event is the RSPCA’s major national fundraiser, you’ll be helping rise money to care for sick, injured and stray animals across the country.

Last year the RSPCA in Australia cared for 156,621 stray, injured and unwanted animals and RSPCA inspectors investigated 50,765 complaints of cruelty and neglect.

Roughly 97 per cent of the RSPCA’s national funding comes from public donations and fundraisers like the Million Paws Walk.

They are 70 event locations across Australia. To register, go to Million Paws

You’ll also be able to create a fundraising page so your friends and family can get behind you.

Cat lovers
If you’re a cat lover, you can register for the Million Purrs.

This is done online and entrants can take part in the event in the comfort of their own homes by fundraising and creating virtual cats.
