MOTIVATION: 10 Tips
1. Run with a friend. It's a lot easier to stay commited when you're accountable to a friend. It also makes the run a more social and enjoyable experience.
2. Try different running routes. You may well discover a new favourite running track.
3. Get yourself an energetic dog who needs lots of exercise. You'll always have a reason to go for a daily run.
4. Every kilometre you run burns roughly 260 kilojoules. Think of your next 10 kilometre run as two slices of pizza.
5. Did you get the six pack you wanted for Christmas? No, well maybe you should start training now, get your Christmas shopping done before the busy end of the year.
6. Run with music. The right song will help you push your limits.
7. Schedule your run in to your diary. It locks you in for it and you can plan your day accordingly.
8. Prepare a healthy post-run meal. It's encouraging to know you won't be un-doing any of your hard work.
9. Remind yourself of your fitness goals. If you're not going to exercise, how are you going to get there?
10. If you don't feel like running, commit to putting your running gear on. By the time you've done that you may feel like going for a run because you're ready to go.
